Established and continues an "Open Door Policy" for the Citizens of West Monroe seeking assistance, advice and help which establishes an understanding of the court system and its duties.
Established the first audit for the West Monroe Marshal's Office for accountability. The Marshal's Office has had 30 years of succesful audits.
Recovered lost and misplaced funds for the City of West Monroe and other state agencies.
Computerized and networked the West Monroe City Court System, City Attorney's Office and the Marshal's Office.
First in the state to establish video in the court system and with increased security personnel with the Marshal's Office. The Marshal's Office Deputies are used now to further protect the City Court.
Streamlined and continues subpoena service thereby reducing unnecessary court appearances by witnesses and victims.
Established and continues the use of unmarked cars and plain clothed Deputies to reduce embarrassment and misunderstanding for witnesses and victims.
Established and implemented collections for the "Stay" programs. This program has been adopted by other Marshal and Court systems in the State of Louisiana.
Established and continues a "Working Scholarship Program" for area students preparing for Law Enforcement training from ULM, La Tech, and Grambling.
Streamlined the new updated computer systems currently being used by the Marshal's Office.
Seven POST (Police Officer Standards and Training) certified deputies with annual training that exceeds the minimum 20 hours required by POST. Some of this additional training includes Courtroom Security, Verbal De-escalation and Crisis Communications, and Civil and Criminal law updates
Our agency serves, processes, and executes all court orders from the West Monroe City Court and within the jurisdiction of Ward 5. We do not duplicate the services of our local law enforcement agencies who do an outstanding job enforcing the law in our city and parish.
The West Monroe Marshal’s office recently made a great effort in accurately converting data to our new Municipal Court System program. This program streamlines implementation of audits and reporting, both daily and monthly. The funds collected from fines, costs, and bonds are then distributed to the appropriate agencies throughout the State of Louisiana. Online payments and many other tracking and reporting mechanisms are also available.
Actively involved with the Louisiana Marshal’s Association and Lobbyist on final passage of House Bill 512 by the Senate and House of Representatives. This House Bill enabled many facets of improvements for Marshal offices throughout the State.
